The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, Monday reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s shocking statement in Benue State that he was not aware that Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, left the state after one day in disregard for his orders to remain until the herdsmen-farmers clashes were brought to an end.

Fayose expressed shock and wondered if the president was aware of things happening around him and across the country.

Reacting to the President’s disclosure in a tweet on Monday, Fayose said, “What manner of a President will give order to the IGP on January 9, only to be telling Nigerians on March 12 (2 months after) that he never knew that the IGP disobeyed his order? Does this President really know anything about happenings around him, not to talk about Nigeria?

“I am not even sure that President Buhari is aware of anything about the abducted 110 Dapchi school girls. We are in serious problem in Nigeria.”

As reports of the statement went public, many Nigerians reacted in shock and anger over how such a striking detachment from reality could be possible, and were quick to express fears over how much more the president could be unaware of.
