President Buhari visits Benue 10 weeks after new year’s day massacre


MAKURDI – All is now set for the first visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Benue State on Monday, March 12th., 2018.

The presidential visit is coming about 10 weeks after the new year’s day massacre of innocent farmers in Logo and Guma local government areas and a week after the Omusu killings in Okpokwu local government area of the state.
According to a statement issued in Makurdi by Governor Samuel Ortom through his Special Adviser on Media and ICT, Tahav Agerzua, “during the visit the President shall pay a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Benue State Council of Chiefs, Tor Tiv the fifth, Professor James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse.

“In the course of the visit, the President would also hold a meeting with major stakeholders at the Benue Peoples House.

“President Muhammadu Buhari shall also visit one of the eight displaced persons’ camps in the state.” The statement added.
