Head of INEC dies in road accident

Emmanuel Akem, head of Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT) at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is dead.

Akem died in a road accident that happened on Wednesday, August 16. The death was confirmed by the younger brother to the deceased on Thursday, August 17 Emmanuel Akem, head of Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT) at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reportedly died in a fatal accident.

Reports have it that Akem was involved in the accident at Garaku, along Lafia-Makudi road on Wednesday, August 16.

An eyewitness said the incident was caused by a drunk official of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who also lost his life in the process.

The younger brother to the deceased, Victor who on August 17 revealed how he died said the family was yet to announce the burial date. He said: ”I witnessed my dear brother’s lifeless body being conveyed from FMC Keffi to Garki general hospital, Abuja. May he rest peacefully with the Lord till we meet to part no more”.
