Daughter of the Oyo Governor, Kemi Olunloyo goes back to jail

Olunloyo took to her verified Twitter handle and Facebook wall to announce the development, claiming it was due to the fact that ‘magistrate bail of N200,000 was not perfected.’

This is what she tweeted:

“The prison said the warrant was canceled. Judicial error?”

She further narrated on her wall that she would be in the Port Harcourt prison until July 5, 2017 and that she needed N100,000 to get a surety to perfect her bail so she could be set free.

However, she could not get the money she needed and had no option but to be remanded in the court’s holding cell while the notice to the prison to get a place for her was being prepared.

She later wrote a passionate appeal soliciting the sum of N100,000 to help perfect her bail on her Facebook wall:

“I need N100,000 to get a surety to perfect my magistrate bail so I don’t sleep in prison tonight.

I am in high spirits!!!

I WAS ARRESTED AGAIN TILL JULY 5th 2017. I’m in the court cell.

Prisons were served a court order and the court register said it was not ready yesterday or this morning. They purposely delayed it so that the prison can’t get it on time. The court started and they released the order taken to the prison. Too late. The judiciary has failed me!!

Case in magistrate court was not perfected. Prison says it was a canceled warrant. Complainant lawyers and prosecutor says no. I was “miraculous” freed says the prosecutor.”

Recall that Olunloyo had published an article accusing Pastor  Ibiyomie of serial adultery with some Nollywood actresses, fraudulent acts, and other sundry crimes, claiming she got the information from a member of his church.

The Pastor did not take the accusation lying low and had written a petition to the Inspector General of Police, leading to her arrest and subsequent remand in prison after she could not meet her bail conditions.

On June 15, Olunloyo had attempted to set up a fundraiser for what she termed her ‘legal fees and travel expense,’ urging the public to donate money to the effect but it is not known if anyone had responded to the appeal before her current travail., and providing her bank account details.
