The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors have presented letters of concern to President Muhammadu Buhari over lack of consultations in his appointments, and he is addressing them.
According to Ortom, Benue state governor, on Monday after meeting with the president in Abuja. He said the governors presented the letters to Buhari over his “numerous lopsided appointments”, including the recent nomination of ambassadors.
“It is the prerogative of Mr. President to do appointments, but where there is need, we always give support. We have about out reservations, and it is being attended to,” he said
A copy of a letter which Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo state, wrote to the president, The letter dated October 26, 2016, was titled “Appointments to Boards of Federal Agencies”.Okorocha wrote:
“Recall the meeting with Progressive Governors of October 23, 2016 on the above subject and the need to take every necessary step to ensure that party stakeholders are carried along as well as equitable distribution.
“Accordingly, Mr. President may wish to expressly request that party stakeholders meet on zonal basis to generate list of recommended nominees for consideration.
“While we await your directive, please accept the assurances of our highest esteem.”
