Nigeria super eagles in Uyo ahead of AFCON qualifier against Tanzania


New Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, is now in Uyo ahead of this weekend’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on sept 3rd.images (39)

The German coach hit Uyo in the company of his assistants Everson Ferreira, Jean-LucRoyer, Nabil Trabelsi and Alloy Agu.

He was expected to hit Uyo on Monday but the arrival was shifted to Tuesday due to cancelled flight in Lagos

On arrival at the team’s Le Meridien Hotel, Coach Rohr had a meeting with his backroom staff and players present, before the evening’s training session at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.image1057

Players already in camp includes: Mikel John Obi, assistant captain Ahmed Musa, goalkeepers Emmanuel Daniel and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Chidozie Awaziem, Jamiu Alimi, Musa Muhammed, Abdullahi Shehu, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong and Elderson Echiejile.image1058

Others are Wolfred Ndidi, Ogenyi Onazi, Nosa Igiebor, Imoh Ezekiel, Brown Ideye, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen, Odion Ighalo and Victor Moses.image1056

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, will be the last Super Eagles player to hit the training camp in Uyo on Thursday. The Eagles spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye, in a statement said that Ikeme will arrive Uyo on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s African Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania. Moses scored his first English Premiership goal for Chelsea last weekend. He has been raking up good performances under new coach Antonio Conte, unlike under former manager Jose Mourinho who thrice sent the Nigerian on loan.

Moses who has two goals in his last two outings for Chelsea this season is now at the eagles camp in Uyo, alongside team captain John Obi Mikel ahead of their encounter with Tanzania, September 3rd this weekend.
