The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that civil servants in the state will henceforth work for only three days a week while the remaining two days will be for other pursuits to sustain their families.
He made this declaration while addressing newsmen at his residence in Owerri on Friday, stating that those not involved in the arrangement are hospital workers, teachers, fire service personnel and other essential workers. He also pointed out that after the outstanding payments for the months of May, June and July, workers will begin to receive their salaries as and when due.
Newsreports have it that Chief Okorocha also said that he was considering calls from several quarters to drop the free education programme which he started at the inception of his administration.
