A new audio statement has surfaced online in what appears to be the voice of Bokoharam’s notorious leader, Abubakar Shekau, claiming he is still alive and in power contrary to news making rounds that he was either dead or had been dethroned.
It’s been months since anyone last heard from the Bokoharam leader, causing Chadian President to claim he had been dethroned by Ahmad Salkida.
In the audio, Shekau added, “It is indeed all over the global media of infidels that I am dead or that I am sick.
“It should be understood that this is false. This is indeed a lie. If it were true, my voice wouldn’t have been heard, now that I am speaking.
“I have not disappeared. I am still alive and I will not die until my time appointed by Allah is up”.
However, his apparent absence from the scene of events was quite noticeable. The extremist leader may have actually been sick or perhaps may have left the country and back.
