Presidential candidate, Donald Trump was late Princess Diana’s suitor or so former TV anchor Selina Scott claims.
At the end of her marriage to Prince Charles in 1996, the billionaire began wooing the princess, “bombarding” her with flowers at Kensington Palace the tv presenter told Britain’s Sunday Times.
“Trump clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife,” the veteran BBC journalist wrote in an Aug. 16 column of the U.K. paper The Sunday Times. “As the roses and orchids piled up at her apartment she became increasingly concerned about what she should do. It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her.”
Scott, 64, reports that Diana asked for her help when Trump approached her over a private dinner. ” ‘What am I going to do?’ she asked. ‘He gives me the creeps.’ ‘Just throw them in the bin,’ I advised. Diana laughed.”
Trump and Scott have been feuding since way back in 1995, when the journalist reported what she called a realistic profile of him for the BBC in 1995, during which questioned Trump’s business dealings and requested specifics of his wealth, leading the billionaire to brand her “uptight and totally insecure about yourself,” “obnoxious, repetitive and not at all smart.” Later he added “a third-class journalist” who “treated me unfairly.”
Trump’s spokesman told the Sunday Times: “(Trump and Diana) had a great relationship, liked each other a lot, but nothing ever came of it.”
