At least 14 Afghan soldiers have been killed in a US air strike on an army checkpoint in Logar province south of Kabul, Afghan officials say. They say two US helicopters attacked the checkpoint in broad daylight on Monday. Several troops were injured. “At 06:00 this morning, two US helicopters attacked a checkpoint in Baraki Barak district of Logar province. The checkpoint caught fire and 14 Afghan army soldiers were killed,” district governor Mohammad Rahim Amin told AFP. The US said it was investigating the incident.
