England international Raheem Sterling completed his much desired move to Manchester City from Liverpool.
The 20-year-old becomes the club’s record signing and the most expensive English footballer after sealing a move which broke the hearts of Liverpool fans and believed to be worth up to £49m.
Ever since Sterling declared his interest to play for the Etihad side, he has been a victim of barage of criticism and abuse both online and offline.
Cheznews went through some of the tweets and mails sent to the young winger and decided make known the reaction of some football fans concerning the deal.
Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo has this to say:
“Raheem Sterling is one of the best attacking players in world football, and I am very much looking forward to him joining our squad out in Australia later this week,” City manager Manuel Pellegrini said, per City’s announcement. “He is a young player with outstanding ability, and I am sure the Manchester City fans will be very excited about seeing him in action for the team.”
Sterling has the potential to become a great player but at the min he can’t finish an last season he was not great. 45+ mill is a good deal!

Consider this. If Sterling joins City for £50m there’ll only have been nine more expensive transfers in football history #LFC #MCFC #hashtag

I do still rate Sterling. Not belittling his talent but he’s clearly had his head turned. Hope this move doesn’t stunt his development.

Downside to all of this is a potentially great player is about to leave #LFC. The rot needs to stop, the club needs to get things right.

Does Twitter have a subscription option for people who don’t give a flying about Raheem Sterling?

When Sterling moves his agent will claim it as a success and validation of his tactics. It’s not. He could move without egotistical agent.

Them not getting delph has probably tipped the balance for city to just cough up an be done with it

Pellegrini called it. “Can you get Sterling from #LFC? Maybe if you go with £100m” Transfer fee and wages will be very close to that figure
— Melissa Reddy (@MelissaReddy_)
#LFC fans shouldn’t be under any illusions. Sterling’s conduct hasn’t been the deciding factor behind his imminent move, the price has.
