Information reaching Cheznews sports desk confirms thaat Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is undergoing his medical at Manchester City as his £49m transfer from Liverpool nears completion.
Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers made it known on Monday that the deal to make Sterling the most expensive English footballer would go through, all that is left is the medical test for the 20 year old player to sign the dotted lines.
Sterling who turned down the offer of a new improved Liverpool contract earlier this year, is expected to join City’s pre-season tour of Australia if the move is completed. He said it was never about the money which is quite hard to believe at the moment, the young winger insisted on wanting to play more competitive football as the sole reason behind his request for a move to the Etihad side.
Rodgers this week insisted Sterling leaves Liverpool on good terms despite the behaviour of the player and his agent Aidy Ward attracting criticism from Anfield greats including Jamie Carragher towards the end of last season.
Sky Sports analyst Carragher now believes Liverpool have struck a good deal for the England forward, who joined the club from QPR’s academy in 2010 and has gone on to score 23 times in 129 appearances.
