It seems like Steven Gerrard’s blasting of Sterling’s attitude lately has paid off. If you recall, Cheznews reported few days ago the former Liverpool legend’s vocal outburst at the Sterling and Rodgers row, report reaching our sports desk has confirmed that Raheem Sterling has joined his teammates on pre-season tour, after what seemed like an advice from Gerrard.
The 20 year old footballer was back in training with Liverpool on Friday morning after missing the previous two days, claiming he was ill.
Sterling has reportedly told the club he won’t go on a their pre-season tour as he seeks an exit from Anfield.
He followed that up by claiming he was too sick to train amid reports his relationship with Brendan Rodgers has broken down completely.
Manchester City are keen to sign the England attacker and, having had two bids rejected, are reportedly ready to make a third offer which comes closer to meeting Liverpool’s £50million valuation of Sterling.
Should no offer be forthcoming, Liverpool are likely to demand Sterling travels on their tour of the Far East.
Liverpool are due to fly out on Sunday ahead of their first friendly against a Thai All Stars side in Bangkok next Tuesday.
Sterling’s return to training comes after he was criticised by former captain Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard, who left Anfield for LA Galaxy this summer, has urged the 20-year-old to “be a man” and resolve his future in the right way.
