Whoopi Goldberg: ‎Oscar winner defends her defence of Bill Cosby‎

Caryn Elaine Johnson better known by her stage name,‎Whoopi Goldberg reveals ‎she’s been receiving threats from unknown people ever since she defended Bill Cosby over the various rape allegations against him.

On Wednesday, June 8, the 59-year-old defended her view and addressed the threat to her family on her talk show ‘The View’.

‎”People have been coming after me and saying they’re going to snatch my family. It’s like being Frankenstein, people coming after you with the fire and they’re going to burn you.”

The host of The View‎ ‎ did not change her belief according to her Cosby, 77, is innocent until proven guilt. In her words, “Not any of you threatening me or telling me you’re coming after me because you don’t like what I said is going to change the fact that no one has convicted him, he has not been arrested,” said Goldberg, adding that, ”The bottom line is, that’s the law. ‎Innocent until proven guilty.”‎‎‎

The Oscar winner referenced a Duke case in 2006, when a‎ false accusation of rape was made against three members of the university’s lacrosse team to prove her point.

“No one here thinks rape is good. No one here thinks rapists are fun. So, don’t come after me like that, ’cause I’m sick of this bull…. Here’s the bottom line, for me: It’s my opinion. And the American courts agree with me, because still he has not been taken to jail or trial on anything. So, back off me!” Goldberg added.‎
