Imo Ex-Governor Granted Bail Set At N270M

Chief Ikedi Ohakim, former governor of Imo state has been granted bail in the tune of N270M by Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Abuja Federal High Court.

The politician was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday on charges of Money laundering. Ikedi Ohakim was said to have made cash payments for a piece of property in Plot No. 1098 Cadastral Zone A04, Asokoro District, otherwise known as No.60, Kwame Nkurumah Street, Asokoro, Abuja worth $2.2M.

In addition to the bail granted, a surety has also been requested for by the court. One who ones landed properties in Abuja, and who is to submit his international passport.
