Manchester City have completed their first transfer of the summer, with highly-rated Turkey striker Enes Unal arriving at the Etihad Stadium from Bursaspor in a reported £2million deal.
The 18-year-old has been chased by a number of top clubs including Premier League champions Chelsea over the past 12 months, and completed formalities with City over the weekend.
City tweeted: “Manchester City are pleased to announce the signing of Turkey international striker Enes Unal from Bursaspor SK.”
Unal, who has one senior international cap, built a strong reputation in youth football.
As well as Chelsea, the youngster was also chased by Manchester United and Inter Milan at a young age, but instead decided to sign a professional contract with home club Bursaspor in 2013.
He scored 24 goals in 25 games for Turkey’s under-16 side and in 2013, at the age of 16, became the youngest goalscorer in the Turkish top flight when he struck against Galatasaray.
