Jurassic World” left a huge footprint on the domestic box office. According to estimates, the “Jurassic Park” sequel had the biggest box office takings in the US on Friday at £131.4 million.
If you think that was impressive, what would you think of it breaking world record over the weekend?
The film has broken the world record for biggest opening weekend ever. It is being screened in 66 different countries, it’s brought in a total of $511million (£320million).
If this keeps on, Jurassic World” will be the best June debut of all time, out-muscling “Man of Steel,” which reeled in $116.6 million in 2013. The movie would also claim the year’s second-best opening, behind Disney and Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” ($191.3 million).
The fourth sequel would undoubtedly be the most successful of the dino franchise. Jurassic World comes over 22 years after Steven Spielberg’s original “Jurassic Park” was launched.
As part of it’s spoils, the movie hauled in about £131.4m in America, £64m in China and £19m in the UK and Ireland.
