It has been reported that the president of Nigeria has already put a call across to the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Gen. Mohammadu  Buhari , congratulating him for his victory over the recently concluded elections.

This information has been confirmed by the Vanguard as well as Premium Times.
In what has appeared to be a fierce battle between both candidates in an election that lasted two days and a collation exercise that lasted an extra two days, Gen. Buhari has appeared to rake in more voting points than the President.

The official announcement by the INEC chairman is expected later on Tuesday night, an announcement that will be be epochal in that it will be the first time an incumbent president will be unseated in Nigeria’s nascent democratic dispensation; Nigeria isn’t there yet, but this power shift will definitely be a crystal proof of growth and maturation in the nation’s democracy and political transparency.

President Jonathan is also expected to give a speech later tonight after the results are announced.
