The Department of State Services has called on Nigerians to be more vigilant and security conscious following the recent military onslaught against Boko Haram.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the DSS, Marilyn Ogar, the intense military presence in the North East and known Boko Haram territories has led the sect to react drastically by attacking other soft targets.
This accounts for the recent increased attacks on Yobe, Kano, Borno and Plateau states.
They further urged members of the public to pay more attention to individuals in their localities and report any strange occurences or movements to the appropriate authorities.
The statement also called on Motor Park managers to ensure that all their drivers and vehicles were secure and screened before entry into motor park premises.
The DSS also encouraged residents of recaptured towns and communities to return home and urged that there was no need for people to relocate from their homes in any part of the country because adequate steps have been taken by security forces to guarantee security of lives and property.
