Hip Hop Mogul, Jay Z, acquires music streaming company Aspiro for $56m

Beats Music now owned by apple as of 2014 and Spotify gets a new rival as Shawn Corey Carter aka Jay Z, acquires music streamer Aspiro in a bid worth $56million.

The Scandinavian company chief financial officer had this to say “Aspiro needs substantial capital and a strong dedicated owner to be able to grow and compete on the global streaming market.”

S. Carter enterprises fills those requirements perfectly, which is probably why Schibsted and Aspiro’s board of directors gave the offer a Thumbs up.

Known as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in America, this move only goes to expand Jay-z’s already vast empire, which include 9ix fragrances, Armand de Brignac Champagne, Rocawear clothing line to name a few.
